SCI Disposable Box
Overview
Injection induced pharmaceuticals usually requires combining glass syringes with metal trays during the manufacturing process. The need is to have a tray that is capable of withstanding high temperature (usually 150°C) for extended periods of time during autoclaving. The problem(s) with metal were that it is heavy and difficult to handle. Also, breakage is a constant factor, as would be expected with glass on metal. The result is a high cost in processing.
SCI Solution
Source Center, Inc. has obtained a plastic material that is capable of withstanding at least 150°C during a standard autoclave cycle. This material has been approved for use as a medical device. SCI is capable of customizing this material into virtually any reasonable configuration for use in such manufacturing procedures.
Results
Increased productivity by reducing breakage (less waste) and handling more pieces in a timely fashion. Such increases could reduce the per unit costs of manufacturing.
